Overall a very clean and attractive Civil War Era Martially Marked Model 1860 Army. Bore is excellent showing modest abrasions, with strong rifling. Colt Serial Number Styles: First Roman to about Serial Number 4500, then Arial/Block to end of M1911 production. So, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia and. Both the North and the South knew by this time that a Civil War was imminent. Strong traces of original case colors on frame, hammer and loading lever. This revolver Serial 97429, was shipped in 1860 right before the beginning of the Civil War. CONDITION: Revolver is excellent, showing a blue/grey patina overall.
